Welcome to the story behind Alex Woodstock Building Services, a venture born from a deep-rooted family legacy and a passion for impeccable craftsmanship.

In 2021, Tim Stuchbery, a Victoria Registered Builder, established this endeavour. But who exactly is Alex Stuchbery? Well, he’s not just a name on the door; he’s Tim’s father and a key influence on Tim’s journey in construction.

The roots of Woodstock trace back to 1853 when the Stuchbery family arrived in Australia. Legend has it that Susan Stuchberry gave birth to a son while awaiting departure from Plymouth, naming him after the very ship they were about to embark on—Woodstock. This familial connection to heritage and tradition is woven deeply into the fabric of our business.

When Tim set out to establish his business, the name “Woodstock Building Services” was unavailable. In homage to his father, whose teachings in building and construction shaped Tim’s expertise, he named the business “Alex Woodstock Building Services.”

Fun fact: If you accidentally address Tim as Alex, don’t worry—he’s used to it and will still be ready to assist you!

Tim’s journey in construction began in childhood, where he immersed himself in the world of building alongside his father and grandfather, who was a Tram builder back in the day. Discussions around the dinner table often revolved around solving building challenges and planning project intricacies.

His education took him through a local Technical School, and he further honed his carpentry skills with a Certificate III in Carpentry. Throughout his career, Tim embodies unwavering dedication to the craft, guided by the principle that doing a job well the first time is the only way to do it.

For Tim, quality is not just a surface finish; it’s ingrained in the very foundation of every project. Every detail is meticulously handled, adhering to the highest standards, ensuring that your project not only meets but surpasses expectations, standing the test of time.
